Help Support Stone City
We are often asked what people can do to get involved and help support Stone City. Here are some things you can do:
Donate! We are organized as a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. Donations are tax deductible and deeply appreciated. If you prefer, you are welcome to specify which of our current projects you would like your donation to go to - see our News page for the most recent updates on current projects. Donations can be given via PayPal, for credit or debit, to thestonecity@gmail.com, or mailed to the address shown below.
Work Parties - We hold several work parties each year at which you can come volunteer, to help us build the sanctuary sites and improve the facilities for your comfort as a guest. Even if you have physical limitiations on the kind of work you can do, you can still help out at a work party. Dates of upcoming work parties and other events are posted on the Events page regularly. We send out details on work party plans to our email list and also post them to the News page. You can join the email list by writing to thestonecity@gmail.com, or just fill in your email address in the contact form at the bottom of the page with a note to add you to the list.
Donate supplies, tools, or materials - Here is our current wish list of supplies and materials we need for projects and ongoing operations. You are welcome to bring donations to any event you're attending, or contact us to arrange donations of items outside an event.
Wish List
- Plywood, exterior grade 1/2" to 3/4" thick, for construction projects
- Lumber: 2x4's, 4x4's and the like, for construction projects
- Concrete and mortar mixes, for making columns, setting posts, etc
- Paint, exterior, to protect wood buildings & repaint guest cabins
- Culvert pipe, 24" or larger
- Peat moss or wood shavings, for composting toilets
- Toilet paper, preferably recycled & unbleached
- Candles
- Torches for outside use in ritual circles, preferably metal not bamboo
- Torch fuel - we usually use citronella fuel
- New curtains for guest cabins & guest house
- Bedding: sheets, pillows, pillowcases, extra blankets for guest cabins
- Kitchen utensils, pots pans etc for guest house
- Shade canopies of all kinds, preferably without plastic parts as these break rapidly
- Garden chairs for outdoor seating, preferably not plastic
- Decorative items for guest cabins & guest house
- Statues or deity images for shrines - large or small!
